Pipetting Training and Certification Seminars
The pipette is a reliable precision instrument that has been used and trusted for many years. As with many forms of instrumentation, however, a pipette will only perform as well as the operator’s technique allows.
Variations and inconsistencies in pipetting technique will significantly affect volume delivery, especially when pipetting small volumes and working with multi-part tests. Variable volume delivery is a major source of laboratory error. As laboratories work to decrease error and increase accuracy and precision of their tests and methods, the importance of understanding and developing optimal, standardized pipetting technique becomes imperative.
Using the ARTEL Method™ of training, ARTEL offers 2 levels of Pipetting Training and Certification Seminars to help you mitigate operator variability and standardize pipetting technique across laboratories.
In addition to our scheduled seminars outlined below, ARTEL also offers pipetting proficiency training at your facility.
Pipetting Proficiency Certification (Level 1)
This one day training seminar conducted regionally or at your facility is designed to meet the needs of all laboratory personnel who use pipettes.
The Level 1 topics include:
- Mechanics of pipetting
- Pipette ergonomics
- Mitigating pipette operator variability
- Pre-training pipetting skills assessment
- Hands-on coaching
- Post-training pipetting skills practical exam
- Post-training written exam
Participants are awarded medals and an official ARTEL Certificate of Proficiency after passing both the written and practical exams.
Pipette Quality Management Certification (Level 2)
This two day seminar is designed to meet the needs of laboratory personnel who use pipettes daily and are facing heightened regulatory compliance, the need to improve internal processes for managing pipettes in the laboratory, and/or establishing an internal quality assurance program for their pipettes.
The Level 2 seminar is held at ARTEL in Westbrook, Maine and includes:
- All of the topics listed in the Level 1 seminar
- Pipette repair and maintenance
- Diagnosing pipette failures
- Calibration technologies
- Regulations and compliance
- Multichannel Pipetting Technique Certification
Participants are awarded medals and an official ARTEL Certificate of Proficiency after passing both the written and practical exams.
