Commitment to CommunityNew Orleans Katrina Relief

ARTEL and its employees join forces with well respected organizations to improve the quality of life in our community.  We believe community involvement extends beyond our corporate environment.  It is not unusual to see ARTEL employees participating in charitable organizations, giving their time, talent and resources to better the lives of those less fortunate.

2008 Hurricane Katrina Relief Project

NEADS

NEADS (Dogs for Deaf and Disabled Americans) is an organization that trains all breeds of dogs to help people with disabilities to live more independently.

ARTEL welcomes dogs in training to come to work to obtain valuable work place experience.  Visit the NEADS website to hear the amazing stories of how these wonderful companions are trained, and the happiness they bring.

Colby College

As a way to support local colleges, ARTEL donated to the Colby College Undergraduate Research Retreat.

This program enables current students to hear firsthand from preeminent scientists about the opportunities existing in today’s research fields. ARTEL supports this program to help students reach their full potential.

  Munjoy Mothers

Every holiday season the Munjoy Hill Mother’s Club makes it possible for the less fortunate children to enjoy the holiday season.

ARTEL employees donate their time and presents to the annual Munjoy Hill Mother’s Club Christmas Party.  There is no better gift for a parent than to see their child smiling at Christmas time.

Animal Refuge League

The local Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland provides care to thousands of animals. Their mission is to humanely care for adoptable animals until each are placed into a loving and caring home.

ARTEL employees created a fun way to raise enough money to participate in their “Sponsor a Cage” program.

New York City Relief

The New York City Relief provides a mobile resource center that serves the homeless, destitute, substance abuser, and the unemployed.  The Relief Bus is a converted school bus which is equipped with a food service unit and a counseling / referral office. They are prepared to meet people's basic needs at the first point of contact.

An ARTEL employee involved with this organization helps prepare meals and serve the homeless and the poor, and bring smiles to inner city children by assisting with games, face painting and prizes.

American Red Cross

This year, ARTEL employees participated in the annual Marathon Blood Drive - an all night event that began Friday evening and ended Sunday morning.

ARTEL was represented by a record breaking number of employees and their families and donated blood which will provide the gift of life to those in need.

2008 New Orleans

ARTEL supported Delta Ministries financially by supporting teams in 2007 and 2008 as they traveled to New Orleans to assist in rebuilding homes.

The team was able to make repairs on homes, give hope to the families they came in contact with, and make friendships that will last a lifetime.
